The Realm of Kings

The follow up to the War of Kings finds our heroes up against some rather unpleasant ‘heroes’ that have emerged from the rift that is known as The Fault.

Most of the individual titles were pretty much self contained, and that is how I have decided to bind the series.

X-Men: Operation Zero Tolerance

Following the assassination of Graydon Creed, Bastion is given permission to hunt down mutants using his newly created Prime-Sentinels who were in essence part human, part robot. A cross-over epic featuring X-Men, Uncanny X-Men, Cable, Generation X, X-Force, and Wolverine.

I feel that the X-Force and Cable issues can be grouped together without having to mix them with the other issues. Uncanny X-Men 346 provides a brief interlude to the storyline. The X-Men and Wolverine issues alternate with each other until the epilogue issue in Wolverine 118. The Generation X issues 29-31 don’t really need to be included, but I’ve included these here to bump up the volume size to 20 issues.

Because of copyright problems with the Sax Rohmer Estates, it looks like we may never see these stories collected in any form. Fortunately I grew up reading these stories and collected all the issues. One of my all time series produced by Marvel Comics in the 1970′s, this is my map for these early adventures of Shang-Chi, Master of Kung Fu.

Shang-Chi also appeared in various issues of the black and white magazine Deadly Hands of Kung Fu between 1974 and 1977.

The Eternals

I’m a big fan of Jack Kirby’s works, and his creation of the Eternals is an essential in my collection. The only problem I have with the map is volume 3 which has about 26 issues. Some people may prefer to keep all the issues but for me it’s about 6 issues too many when compared to the other volumes. So I may have to do some pruning there.

I’ve left out the 6 issue Max series The Eternal since I feel it doesn’t belong here.
