A fun series harkening back to the DC style of the early to mid 80′s. Mishkin and Cohn did a great job with this series and it includes a nice crossover with Firestorm and the wild intro of Kid Devil. I’m planning on doing this as a very large omnibus but it could also be done in two equal volumes with a break before or after Blue Devil 19.

Blue Devil Volume 1

Fury of Firestorm 24 (cover and Blue Devil insert)
Blue Devil 1-18
Blue Devil Summer Fun Annual 1
Blue Devil 19-22
Fury of Firestorm 46
Blue Devil 23
Fury of Firestorm 47
Blue Devil 24-27
DC Comics Presents 96
Blue Devil 28-31
Secret Origins 24 (Blue Devil story)
Showcase ’93 1-6 (Covers and Blue Devil story pages)
* Showcase ’93 isn’t as good as the stuff that comes before so this story could be skipped if you wanted

Vigilante was the grim and gritty story of Adrian Chase told in the deluxe format of mid 1980′s DC and his story to bring justice to the streets. Upon it’s cancellation in 1988 DC quickly launched the follow-up series Checkmate. This was also done in the deluxe format of the day.

Vigilante Volume 1 – 28 issues + 2 annuals

New Teen Titans 23
New Teen Titans 26-27
New Teen Titans 33-34
New Teen Titans Annual 2
Vigilante 1-18

Checkmate Volume 1 – 34 issues

Action Comics 598
Checkmate 1-33
* Janus Directive runs through Checkmate issues 15-18. You can take those issues out, leave them in, or put in the entire Janus Directive storyline.

While I’m doing 2 volumes of Vigilante and 1 volume of Checkmate you could also create 3 volumes of Vigilante ending at 14 & 32 and splitting Checkmate after 19; unfortunately the pesky Janus Directive is directly in the middle of the series.

This is a map for those that want to bind Ostrander's group of late 1980's or early 1990's titles. Most of these have had no reprints at all and it's a great read so it makes for a solid bind.

This series written by John Ostrander and Kim Yale features Mark Shaw after his appearances in Justice League of America and features his split from the original Manhunters and his battle with Dumas. Tied to Ostrander’s other books like Firestorm and Suicide Squad this series ties into the Janus Directive, map included, and also featues crossovers with the Flash and Suicide Squad but can fit easily fit into one slightly larger volume.

Secret Origins 22 – Completely optional; pages 29-33 offer a nice recap of his previous adventures
Manhunter 1-6
Suicide Squad Annual 1 – remove brief lives story
Manhunter 7 – you can include Invasion 1-3 in here as well if you’d like
Flash 21
Manhunter 8
Flash 22
Manhunter 9-24 – issue 14 is part 6 of The Janus Directive which I’m binding seperately as a whole (see below)

Bonus – The Janus Directive - this can be done on it’s own or included with Checkmate, Suicide Squad, Manhunter, or Firestorm (or all of them if you’re feeling really adventerous)
Peacemaker mini 1-4 – entirely optional as it’s not a part of The Janus Directive but fits well
Checkmate 15
Suicide Squad 27
Checkmate 16
Suicide Squad 28
Checkmate 17
Manhunter 14
Firestorm 86
Suicide Squad 29
Checkmate 18
Suicide Squad 30
Firestorm 87
Captain Atom 30

The three Earth-Two titles created by Roy Thomas including All-Star Squadron, Infinity, Inc., and Young All-Stars.

Included here are Roy Thomas’ three Earth-Two series, All-Star Squadron, Infinity, Inc., and Young All-Stars, with various tie-ins, mini-series, and specials. Growing up one of my favorite series to find in the cheap bins was All-Star Squadron since it featured a bunch of heroes together and big action. Eventually I assembled a complete collection and later on found Young All-Stars on the stands and acquired Infinity, Inc. as well.

A word of caution, I like bigger books so my bindings are a bit bigger and you can certainly cut them into one more volume if you prefer. If you have questions on this please ask. For Infinity, Inc. and Young All-Stars you can easily just keep the respective annuals in the appropriate series but I like having the whole story in one book.

All-Star Squadron

Volume 1

Justice League of America 193 (insert story)
All-Star Squadron 1-13
All-Star Squadron Annual 1
Justice League of America 207
All-Star Squadron 14
Justice League of America 208
All-Star Squadron 15
Justice League of America 209
All-Star Squadron 16-20

Volume 2

All-Star Squadron 21-26
All-Star Squadron Annual 2
All-Star Squadron 27-37
All-Star Squadron Annual 3
All-Star Squadron 38-43

Volume 3

All-Star Squdron 44-67
All-Star Comics 80-Page Giant 1 (Thunderstruck story)
Crimson Avenger Mini 1-4 (doesn’t need to be included but it’s by Thomas and it doens’t really fit anywhere else)

Infinity, Inc. – I am doing this in three volumes but you could easily expand to 4 volumes if you prefer.

Volume 1

Infinity, Inc. 1-2
All-Star Squadron 24-26
All-Star Squadron Annual 2
Infinity, Inc. 3-19
Justice League of America 244
Infinity, Inc. 20
Infinity, Inc. Annual 1

Volume 2

Infinity, Inc. 21-23
Jonni Thunder 1-4 (published a full year prior to this but it’s in a good spot… you can also keep it out or put it at the end if you don’t want to break up Infinity, Inc.)
Infinity, Inc. 24-29
Last Days of the Justice Society
Infinity, Inc. 30-32
Secret Origins 9 (Skyman Story & Cover)
Infinity, Inc. 33-34
Infinity, Inc. 35 – to page 20
Secret Origins 12 – Fury story
Infinity, Inc. 35 – page 21 to end
Infinity, Inc. 36-38

Volume 3

Infinity, Inc. 39
Infinity, Inc. 40 – to page 16
Secret Origins 16 – Hourman story
Infinity, Inc. 40 – page 17 to end
Infinity, Inc. 41
Outsiders Special 1 – the covers to both specials form one image
Infinity, Inc. Special 1
Infinity, Inc. 42-44
The New Teen Titans 38
Infinity, Inc. 45-50
Young All-Stars Annual 1 (take out private lives)
Infinity, Inc. Annual 2 – the covers to both annuals form one image
Infinity, Inc. 51-53
Amazing Heroes 36 – Big Roy Thomas Earth-2 volume

Young All-Stars – I am looking at doing this in one bigger volume but it could easily be split into two volumes split after the annuals.

Volume 1

Young All-Stars 1-7
Secret Origins 22
Young All-Stars 8-11
Secret Origins 26 (MIss America Story)
Young All-Stars 12-14
Young All-Stars Annual 1 – the two annual covers form one image
Infinity, Inc. Annual 2 (remove private lives story)
Young All-Stars 15-31
