The spine of this map are the oversized hardcovers collecting the major events, with the custom volumes created from the compendium TPB series (Dawn of X, Reign of X, and Trials of X). In many places, covers share pages with story or text pages from other issues. When I have needed to split those up, I have found cover images and reprinted those, opting not to do any scan-and-prints for actual story pages.
Unfortunately, Marvel ended the compendium trades after “Trials of X”, so I switched to a mix of individual series trades and single issues for the “Destiny of X” era and then single issues for “Fall of X” and beyond.
I heavily referenced the Way of X blog when putting the map together to determine best chronological order, and the “Arguments” section of that site will explain a lot of issue placements. Some issue placements have been determined by how the issues were reprinted in the “… of X” trades to minimize “scan-and-print” efforts.

This volume contains issues from Dawn of X volumes 1-7 and 9-11, as well as the X-Men/Fantastic Four TPB. There is a one page story from Marvel Comics #1000 featuring Apocalypse that I included, and used it as the back side of one of the text pages or covers that I needed to print out. The reason that the New Mutants issues skip around is that the focus of the book was split – half of the team was in space in issues by Jonathan Hickman, while the other half was still on Earth in issues by Ed Brisson.

X Lives/Death of Wolverine is supposed to be the cap of the Reign/Trials era and launch Destiny of X. But there were still a few issues with some lingering threads, including the Sabretooth mini-series that chronicles events covering the entire Krakoa era. These interlude volumes are for issues that fall between the cracks before Destiny of X. Some of the issues were included in Trials of X Volumes 10-12, but many others came from single issues or other TPBs.

The X-Force and Wolverine issues are technically Judgment Day tie-ins, but they span the entire event. I opted to group them together afterwards instead of spacing them out within the Judgment Day volume. As I was putting the map together, I really liked the idea of a volume of side stories (being the New Mutants and X-Terminators issues in volume 4). However, since those stories all needed to come before the X-Men and Dark Web issues, X-Force and Wolverine got pushed to volume 5. None of the other tie-ins to Dark Web are required for the X-Men storyline.
