Oh good, my DCBS box hasen't arrived yet, so I'm a tad behind on my current GL. Can't wait!

Yeah, while gaining the ion power was significant to Kyle from a historical perspective, I wasn't that crazy about the actual story. Truthfully, it wasn't really a significant story until well after the fact when the Ion power concept was revisited. I debated that one for a while, but ultimately decided that these were not archival records that needed to be 100% complete but rather a collection of books that I really wanted to reread. Thus I left it out.

I only included the last couple of issues from the Ion mini because they sort of put a full-circle endcap on that phase of Kyle's career - that story hearkened back to Kyle's early adventures with Donna circa ish 70.

I was tempted to do the whole thing, but some of that Roy Harper teamup / Ghost of Hal Jordan stuff around issue 100 was so bad that I didn't want to spend the money to bind it. I was just trying to hit the highlights in his career and personal life and keep it to two volumes. I miss Jade.

Wow I was considering the same thing. A best of Kyle Rayner. But I've decided to take my time and eventually do the whole run. (And it helps that I recently acquired the first 49 issues already bound...)
