Add to favoritesI loved Hama’s work on G.I.Joe and Silvestri’s work on Uncanny X-Men, so this was a definite buy for me as a kid. To me, this was one of the best teams to ever work on a Wolverine book. It’s a shame that they were only able to produce 24 issues together before Silvestri left to help form Image Comics.

The Wolverine Classic trades go up to #30 and it seems #31 and up is prime for binding. After getting a few issues I must agree I think the quality jumped up by leaps and bounds.
Why did you leave out #44, 47 and 54? Not Silvestri? Are they stand alone stories?
Both. They are stand-alone issues by fill-in writers and artists.
Not that they are bad necessarily (well, they are pretty weak), but they didn’t contribute to the overall story that Hama was weaving in the Silvestri issues, and I didn’t care to water down the awesome art. I did include issue 51 drawn by Andy Kubert because it is part of the big story, so it’s an anomaly. The run overall is fantastic, still the best Wolvie run ever IMO.
