However, in putting them together, I couldn’t resist putting the handful of Detective issues drawn by Alan Davis at the beginning of the first volume. Breyfogle’s depiction of the Dark Knight still defines my mental image of what Batman should be like. He draws Batman with a fluidity that no one other than perhaps Neal Adams could match. Plus his Batman has a personality, a sense of humor, a sly little grin that lets you know he’s not losing his edge.
