ComicBinding.com » Flash https://comicbinding.com A Community for Comic Binding Sun, 19 Apr 2026 23:47:57 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=3.9.40 Flashpoint https://comicbinding.com/mapping/flashpoint https://comicbinding.com/mapping/flashpoint#comments Thu, 02 Feb 2017 03:16:37 +0000 http://comicbinding.com/?p=4752 Flashpoint changed the DC Universe, and gave me headaches for months afterwards in attempting to bind it, along with the Flash series leading up to it.  Originally, I was going to do a Road to Flashpoint book that covered the Flash series leading up to the event.  Then, I was going to do the usual mega event bind.  However, I kept going back and forth, because Flashpoint had two major stories going on.  First was the Barry Allen time travel adventure.  The other was the big sprawling war in the background of the Flashpoint world.  And, because there were scenes shared between some of the tie-ins and the main series, some of the main series would have to get cut out.  Finally, I decided to move the main Flashpoint series into the Flash book, to have a complete arc there, and then do a separate book with the tie-ins called World War Flashpoint, because they combined to tell their own story.  Of course, I keep toying with the idea of getting a second set of Flashpoint issues and adding them to the World War Flashpoint book to have the complete story.

In reading the first couple of issues of Flash Rebirth, it came to my attention that I didn’t know that much about Barry Allen aside from his sacrifice in the original Crisis and his near-sainthood status thereafter. Thus I decided to bind and read this particular story because of it’s significance in Barry’s history. Who knew his past would get so screwed up in Rebirth. Still this is a classic Flash run (no pun intended…)
