Volume 15: Welcome to Genosha

The X-Men’s world goes up in flames as the most incendiary mutant crossover of all begins! X-Factor, the New Mutants, the newly-minted X-Terminators and even Power Pack all feel the heat as the Machiavellian geneticist Mister Sinister and the demon lord N’astirh set their respective sights on Cyclops’ wife, Madelyne Pryor!

The New Mutants’ Illyana Rasputin may be lord of Limbo, but how long will that uneasy crown last when Limbo’s demon hordes invade New York? As demons rain down on New York City the X-Men battle Sinister’s Marauders while Madelyne strikes a pact to become…the Goblin Queen! Who threatens to cast a spell that will merge Earth and limbo permanently at the cost of the life of her own innocent son! And when Mister Sinister brings his own agenda into the mix, secrets are revealed that rock Cyclops to the core! The fate of everything hangs in the balance in this fiery epic! Volume 17: Meltdown

An anthology of mutant misadventures! Star trippin’ with the Starjammers! Joined by Professor X and Lilandra, Corsair helms his team on a cosmic quest to find the fabled planet Phalkon. But usurping Shi’ar Empress Deathbird lies in wait, and she’s ready for WAR! Cyclops is joined by the sonic screaming Banshee, the fiery Morlock Callisto and the genetics expert Moira MacTaggert, together they are are all that stand between the evil Master Mold and his unholy goal of global genocide. Havok elects to spend some time alone in the Australian outback. There he meets a new friend, Leila, and must come to terms with if he can love again while fighting the ghost from his past: the Living Pharaoh!

When Colossus, the Russian-born X-Man, decides to take a vacation in America’s Heartland, he little expects to run into the Cold Warriors, a covert organization dedicated to keeping America pure. They are soon out to make him, and the family who has befriended him, into a red stain on the landscape. Finally, two friends. Two mutants. Two X-Men! Havok and Wolverine are ambushed by Russian terrorists while on leave in Mexico. The two find themselves caught in a deadly web of international intrigue and betrayal! Can Alex Summers and Logan thwart a plot to bring the Western world to its knees?

Volume 18: Fever Dream

When Nanny attacks the X-Men’s Australian base, tragedy strikes Storm! Now without their leader the Cyborg Reavers decide to take the X-Men by surprise! To make matters worse the X-Men are betrayed by one of their own. Will the traitor be their salvation or doom them to a fate worse than death? The X-Men are brought to their lowest point as the team slowly breaks apart. Who will rise to take their place? A new team forms on Muir Island but Legion’s secret will first of many tragedies a head for the fledgling team. Hela’s evil spell corrupts Mirage’s Valkyrie side, Doctor Strange lends a magical hand! But to cure Mirage completely, the New Mutants must travel to Asgard, home of the mighty Norse gods! The trouble is, Hela is scheming to murder Odin and conquer Asgard! Will a handful of mortal mutants be enough to defeat the Goddess of Death?

Volume 9: Rise of X-Factor

Who exactly is Longshot? And why is he on the run for his life? Find out as this hero from another dimension bounces around the Marvel Universe! It’s all in the family for Cyclops and Madelyne as their son Nathan Charles Christopher Summers is born! To make matters worse Jean Grey is found alive with a little help from the Avengers and Fantastic Four! Xavier’s original class is back but can they defeat Tower, Frenzy and the Alliance of Evil?

Volume 10: Getting Even

It’s back to class under a new schoolmaster: the master of magnetism, Magneto! The ex-terrorist has turned teacher to atone for his crimes, but even if the New Mutants and the X-Men trust him, the Avengers will be much tougher to convince!

Then the New Mutants face their own mortality as the Beyonder breaks their minds, bodies and spirits! Longshot stumbles into the Mansion for help but ends up bringing Mojo and his latest mad scheme! Psylocke and her brother Captain Britain make an appearance to help the de-aging X-Men! Plus: The deadly threats of Empath, Legion and Danielle Moonstar in a gunfight with Death herself?

At last, the tragic origin of Wolverine. After being taken hostage by an experimental Canadian military science outfit, Logan is transformed into Weapon X, an unstoppable killing machine with an indestructible Adamantium skeleton and razor-sharp claws. But Weapon X cannot be contained by his captors who are now trapped in their lab with the monster they have made and they will face his feral wrath!

Volume 11: Mutant Massacre

The first X-Men crossover event and still the most brutal! When Sabretooth and the lethal Marauders, Arclight, Riptide, Vertigo, Harpoon, Scalphunter and Scrambler attack the underground community of outcasts known as the Morlocks, the X-Men, X-Factor and New Mutants join forces to stop them with help from Thor, Daredevil and Power Pack! But the cost of victory is high as the X-Men are shattered, Thor is wounded and the Angel is changed forever!

Volume 12: Truth and Consequences

Extreme times call for extreme measures and the X-Men are willing to go to any lengths to save the life of their teammate Kitty Pryde. But are they willing to strike a deal with Doctor Doom? Meanwhile Angel contemplates a much bleaker fate! Meanwhile Psylocke, Longshot and Dazzler join the undermanned X-Men just in time to clash with the Avengers! When Magneto seeks to recover fragments of Asteroid M, the Avengers step in to investigate. Unsure of his intentions, they seek to bring him to trial before the World Court in Paris. Fortunately for Magneto, his teammates in the Uncanny X-Men step in to defend him no matter what the cost. These two teams face off and also have to deal with the Soviet Super Soldiers!

Volume 13: Fallen Angels

From the pages of X-Factor: Madrox and Siryn! From the pages of New Mutants: Sunspot and Warlock! From the pages of X-Force: the Vanisher and Boom-Boom! Mix these six unlikely allies with Devil Dinosaur, super-strong lobsters and some teenage runaways, and you’ve got the Fallen Angels! What wonders await these strange heroes of Beat Street in the paradise of Coconut Grove?!

Meet Bird-Brain, a bizarre creature who’s about to become the team’s feathered friend. The New Mutants face off against their rivals, the Hellions, to track Bird-Brain down but before the quest is done, one of them will switch sides! And there’s worse in store for the team as they trace Bird-Brain’s origins back to the freak-filled island of the Ani-Mator. Then it’s rematch you have been waiting for, X-Men vs Marauders round two! Unfortunately Storm is on her own journey of discovery with Naze which leads her on a path with the goal of killing Forge!

Volume 14: Fall of the Mutants

Three teams of mutants. Three tales of tragedy. Angel is dead, apparently by suicide. The Beast is slowly losing his amazing intellect. Iceman’s powers are out of control. Cyclops and Marvel Girl don’t know how to feel towards one another. And amidst all this, a new generation of troubled mutant teens desperately needs help… especially when they’re targeted by the villainous Right! As if that’s not enough, X-Factor faces the Horsemen of Apocalypse!  While as the New Mutants lose their innocence along with one of their own! Finally, the legendary X-Men make the ultimate sacrifice to stop the Adversary from plunging the world into darkness.  Witness as they charge headlong into death itself to protect a world that hates and fears them.

Banshee and Forge begin a quest for the missing X-Men but they’ll encounter more than they expected as the run into the Morlocks and Masque!  Will the X-Men be able to overcome Masque’s grotesque touch and save the Morlocks? Meanwhile Archangel finds himself stuck between Sabretooth and Caliban, Iceman and Opal go on a date and Beast run afoul of Mesmero! Finally, Storm finds herself in over her head and on the run from Nanny and the Orphan Maker! Will the mutant thief Gambit be able throw some luck her way? And just what exactly is brewing in Genosha?

 Volume 20: X-Tinction Agenda

Days of Future Present! A man from the future, desperately searching for the safety of his past, returns to those he once loved to save them from a future of tyranny and death. But in doing so he may have brought with him the greatest threat of all… the mutant killer Ahab. Then the X-Men, New Mutants and X-Factor are targeted for X-Tinction! To rescue a friend, the X-Men must invade the mutant-enslaving island nation of Genosha but the Genoshans’ memories are long, and their revenge will be terrifying! As the Magistrates strike, X-Factor and the New Mutants are drawn into the conflict…and soon discover old foe Cameron Hodge powered up and pulling the strings! The three X-teams are kidnapped, brainwashed, stripped of their powers, forced into combat and at least one among them will die! Can the powerless X-Men triumph over the military might of an entire nation?

 Volume 21: Muir Island Saga

The end of an era for the X-Men! When Apocalypse strikes, infecting Cyclops’ son Nathan with a deadly virus, Cyclops must make a bitter sacrifice! And the current X-Men return to Earth to find that Professor X’s old foe the Shadow King has risen and taken over Muir Island! It will take X-Factor and the X-Men’s combined strength to triumph…and what has Cable been up to with the New Mutants?

Volume 23: X-Cutioner’s Song

A shot is heard around the world…as Xavier lies dying his legacy struggles to survive. Volume 24: Fatal Attractions I

The X-Men travel to Russia for a family reunion with Colossus’ parents and his little sister Illyana, formerly the fan-favorite New Mutant known as Magik! But the villainous Soul Skinner is on the loose and the Russian government is prepared to stop him by any means necessary. Even if that means using a little girl and shattering a family. As Magneto’s Acolytes amp up their attacks on Homo sapiens everywhere, the X-teams join forces to put an end to their mad crusade against humanity once and for all. And as a mysterious disease begins creeping through the mutant community, claiming the lives of hated foe and dear friend alike, which X-Man will buckle under the strain? Plus: Betsy Braddock returns! But if Betsy’s back, then who is Psylocke? The X-Men head for Japan in search of answers, but find themselves at odds with the Silver Samurai! And Gambit and Rogue face a challenge of the heart.

Volume 25: Fatal Attractions II

The thrilling saga that commemorated the X-Men’s 30th Matters come to a head in the most shocking way possible, culminating in a devastating attack on Wolverine and a showdown between Professor X and Magneto that must be seen to be believed! Then the X-Men and Avengers head for Genosha where civil war has erupted and Exodus & Cortez have arrived to fan the flames! Can even the X-Men and Avengers combined bring peace to a nation at war and defeat two madmen?

Volume 26: Ceremonies and Revelations

Wedding bells are ringing for the most star-crossed super hero couple of all…Scott Summers and Jean Grey! But there’s a ton of action to go with the romance as the X-Men and Avengers must keep Magneto’s Acolytes from destroying Genosha, the mutant-killing Legacy Virus hits close to home, and Professor X decides to rehabilitate the monster known as Sabretooth! But love conquers all as Jean and Scott tie the knot at last before a mind-bending honeymoon to the far future!? Meanwhile powerful anti-mutant bigots have commandeered a familiar alien virus that may end all mutants once and for all! Plus, Omega Red and the Acolytes prove to Cable that no matter how many old enemies a hero has, there’s always room for new ones!

Volume 27: Phalanx Covenant

The Phalanx, a cold, vicious and unstoppable foe that absorbs all in its path has been unleashed against Mutantkind! But these creatures are far more than their creators bargained for and they plan to summon their parent race to overtake Earth! When the Phalanx captures the X-Men, the remaining X-teams must split into three groups. Banshee, Sabretooth and the White Queen attempt to save the next generation of mutants from the Phalanx’s clutches.  Members of X-Force, X-Factor and Excalibur attempt to prevent the Phalanx from contacting their home world and rescue Docklock.  Then finally Cyclops, Phoenix, Cable and Wolverine head into the heart of the Phalanx to rescue captured the X-Men!

Volume 28: Legion Quest

Then, it’s the dawning of a new day as Xavier’s School opens the doors to its Massachusetts Academy! Jubilee says goodbye to the X-Men as she joins the fledgling Generation X, along with the sullen Chamber, overachieving Husk, know-it-all M, good natured Sync, mischievous Skin and the mysterious Penance, but when the marrow sucking monster known as Emplate strikes, will any of the new students survive their baptism of fire?

Then, Mystique seeks revenge against Legion for killing Destiny. Unfortunately, he actions have awakened a once comatose Legion! Now his once-shattered psyche is finally united, with a singular purpose! To make up for all the misery he has visited on his father, Charles Xavier. And to do it, he plans to make Xavier’s dream a reality by travelling back in time to kill its greatest obstacle, Magneto! The X-Men scramble to stop him from altering history but, lost in the past, can they thwart Legion’s misguided mission before the entire Marvel Universe is wiped away?

Valerie Cooper launches a new government mutant response initiative to replace the now defunct Freedom Force. Led by Havok the new X-Factor consists of Polaris, Wolfsbane, Multiple Man, Quicksilver, and Strong Guy (don’t ask). Can Havok step out of the shadow of his brother Cyclops? After being possessed by Malice can Polaris figure out who she really is? Wolvesbane faces the repercussions of her brain washing by the Genoshan Magistrate while Multiple Man and Strong Guy are all about having fun! However before this group can get their bearings they are almost immediately thrust into a world of politics, media and red tape as they stand as America’s premiere mutant team! This volume includes Peter David’s epic X-Factor run!

I intentionally left out issues 84-86 as they are parts of the X-Cutioner’s Song crossover with X-Men, Uncanny X-Men, and X-Force. (Looking back I probably should have just included X-Cutioner’s Song.

volume 2: Paradise Lost

Havok tries to keep his team together but stress and tragedy continue to pull the team apart by their seams! X-Factor returns with the X-Patriots to Genosha but what evil awaits them there? And how does it spell doom for Multiple Man? Can Wolfsbane ever revert back to human form? The mysterious Haven suddenly appears with the possible answer to all their problems! But can she do all she says? And what is the secret of her power? Will Strong Guy ever be serious? Plus Forge makes an appearance that will have long lasting effects on the team!

Volume 3: Havok’s Fall

Havok has seen better days. As his powers begin to flare out of control he’s hunted by the enigmatic Fatale! What is happening to him and who is behind it? And will X-Factor be able to save him before it’s too late? Random returns just in time to be a thorn in X-Factor’s side as Forge faces his greatesd enemy…the Adversary! After suffering the loss of even more team members X-Factor is forced to begin a recruitment drive! Forge is joined by Polaris, Mystique, Wild Child, Shard and Sabretooth?!? Even with a control collar everyone knows Sabretooth is a walking time bomb. Why is the Government forcing X-Factor to accept him? Why is the Government turning X-Factor into a mutant hunting team? Forge wants answers but if he finds what he’s looking for it may cost him his life! Plus what happens when Mystique and Sabretooth are able to strike off on their own? Nothing good, and A.I.M. is about to find out how bad that is…

Volume 4: Underground

As anti-mutant hysteria begins to increase nationwide X-Factor becomes more and more frustrated with their hands being tied by Government tape.  Realizing the Government has hidden factions bend on using mutants as weapons Forge decides to take the team underground!  Unfortunately the Government has other plans as they release the Hounds!  Now unleashed Sabretooth hunts down X-Factor and he is out for blood!  Meanwhile Havok continues to walk a dark path as he recruits the man who brainwashed him into his Brotherhood!  Enter the Dark Beast! And just who are Xavier’s Underground Enforcers?  They have arrived in our universe and it’s all Shard’s fault!  Plus the return of two fan favorite characters from the past!
