Then the New Mutants face their own mortality as the Beyonder breaks their minds, bodies and spirits! Longshot stumbles into the Mansion for help but ends up bringing Mojo and his latest mad scheme! Psylocke and her brother Captain Britain make an appearance to help the de-aging X-Men! Plus: The deadly threats of Empath, Legion and Danielle Moonstar in a gunfight with Death herself?

At last, the tragic origin of Wolverine. After being taken hostage by an experimental Canadian military science outfit, Logan is transformed into Weapon X, an unstoppable killing machine with an indestructible Adamantium skeleton and razor-sharp claws. But Weapon X cannot be contained by his captors who are now trapped in their lab with the monster they have made and they will face his feral wrath!

Volume 11: Mutant Massacre

The first X-Men crossover event and still the most brutal! When Sabretooth and the lethal Marauders, Arclight, Riptide, Vertigo, Harpoon, Scalphunter and Scrambler attack the underground community of outcasts known as the Morlocks, the X-Men, X-Factor and New Mutants join forces to stop them with help from Thor, Daredevil and Power Pack! But the cost of victory is high as the X-Men are shattered, Thor is wounded and the Angel is changed forever!

Volume 12: Truth and Consequences

Extreme times call for extreme measures and the X-Men are willing to go to any lengths to save the life of their teammate Kitty Pryde. But are they willing to strike a deal with Doctor Doom? Meanwhile Angel contemplates a much bleaker fate! Meanwhile Psylocke, Longshot and Dazzler join the undermanned X-Men just in time to clash with the Avengers! When Magneto seeks to recover fragments of Asteroid M, the Avengers step in to investigate. Unsure of his intentions, they seek to bring him to trial before the World Court in Paris. Fortunately for Magneto, his teammates in the Uncanny X-Men step in to defend him no matter what the cost. These two teams face off and also have to deal with the Soviet Super Soldiers!

Meet Bird-Brain, a bizarre creature who’s about to become the team’s feathered friend. Volume 56: Day of the Atom

Finally putting to rest their own recent past, the X-Men embark on an all-new, all-different era of excitement! When everyone’s favorite shape-shifting secret agent is sent to Europe to investigate a biotech company rumored to be using mutants as guinea pigs, she discovers a mystery far greater than anything she’d imagined! As Mystique and Shortpack get closer to their objective, they must confront a new revelation: that someone is selling transient mutants as guinea pigs, slaves and worse! Will Mystique go after this mutant-selling scum, or will she allow her personal crisis to tear her apart first?

Volume 56.01: Wolverine Coyote Crossing (Pending)

The 2003 Wolverine series crosses over into the X-Men a lot after issue 19.  It did not make sense to bind the title on it’s own.  The first three story arcs as well as Old Man Logan do not fit in anywhere with the X-Men so I opted to make them their own bind.  I may update this volume with miscellaneous stories.

Volume 57: Choosing Sides

The Xavier Institute students thought they had it tough when Professor X was running things but now Cyclops and Emma Frost are in charge! As a new semester begins, the students adopt code names and costumes, and are separated into training squads…and Dani Moonstar’s New Mutants soon find themselves feuding with Emma Frost’s Hellions.

The X-Men investigate a series of mysterious murders in New York City. All the victims seem to have been cut to pieces by blades…Adamantium blades! But if Wolverine didn’t murder these people, then who did?! Plus: While on assignment to track down missing teammate Sage, the X-Men discover more than they bargained for: the birth of a newer and deadlier Hellfire Club!

Then, welcome to Mutant Town, the dark corner of New York City where the long arm of the law has been severed clean. Here, the mutant population doesn’t sport GQ-style or champagne dreams. They eke out each day in squalid tenement rows and filthy streets where only one man and one law can be trusted: the X-Man Bishop.

Volume 58: World’s End

Professor Xavier has now assembled his ragtag team of Magneto and Callisto with youngsters Wicked, Freakshow and Shola under their tutelage. Already struggling to keep the peace in Genosha, as well as between themselves, will the team have the strength to get to the bottom of simultaneous terrorist attacks on X-Corp offices around the world? Plus: Magneto has returned to Genosha, and he’s got someone with him…someone who promises to shake things up for Professor X and his newly formed team!

Then Someone…or something…is haunting the halls of the Xavier Institute, and it’s up to the X-Men-in-training to get to the bottom of it! Can the New Mutants find a way to bring peace to this tortured being before they become the tortured?

Finally, the mysterious and powerful Phoenix Force is life incarnate, and yet it consumes whole worlds in a moment. Volume 59: Enemy of the State

Wolverine has long been the X-Men’s most dangerous member but now, this deadly living weapon has switched sides! Defeated by the Gorgon and brainwashed by Hydra and the Hand, Wolverine has become an agent of the ruthless ninja clan slicing and dicing his way through S.H.I.E.L.D., the Fantastic Four and the X-Men! And his former friends and teammates will pay a very high price to subdue him. As Hydra picks off superhumans one by one and the X-Men mourn a fallen friend, S.H.I.E.L.D. works feverishly to deprogram Wolverine. Volume 60: Dangerous Liaisons

A new student has arrived at the Xavier Institute. She’s sexy, sassy, and has the hots for Gambit! Will Remy be seduced by this little Lolita, or will Rogue do the unthinkable to keep her man?!

Ever wonder what Gambit gets up to when he’s not out saving the world with the X-Men? Then Nightcrawler’s back but for how long?! As a badly injured Kurt lies on the brink of death, moments of his life flash before his eyes. Unfortunately, these memories are not how he remembered. Volume 61: Target X

“Year’s End”, the Xavier Institute’s end-of-year dance is upon the New Mutants. Invitations are declined, hearts broken, and jealously runs rampant! And just as the X-Men leave for a mission, an old villain sees this as the perfect time to strike! Then the Hellions spend the summer in California, where they’ll discover the dirty secrets from one of their pasts and will face a temptation that will determine whether these kids will be heroes or villains.

Callisto answers a cry for help from Warren Worthington, a.k.a. Archangel! But Callisto and Warren have some pretty unpleasant history between them…can they overcome their differences long enough to survive? Meanwhile, Professor X and Magneto struggle to help their disturbed guest on Genosha.

After escaping the facility that created her, X-23 struggles to create a life for herself. However she will not rest until she faces off with the one man most responsible for her life, Wolverine. There will be blood.

Back to The New Age

They’re going to kill each other–if the apocalypse doesn’t do them in first! Spider-Man and Wolverine–fellow Avengers, but not each other’s biggest fans–are lost in time…and running out of time. Volume 69: Messiah CompleX

In the aftermath of House of M the future of mutants has never been bleaker. At the seeming end of their evolutionary cycle, a miracle arrives in the form of the first mutant birth since the events of M-Day. But from this source of hope comes a clash between mutants over who will control the child’s fate. It is a race for the future as the Purifiers, Mr. Sinister and the X-Men clash! The fight for the future begins here!

Volume 70: Divided We Stand

With the tragic ending of Messiah Complex the X-Men are no more! Lost more than ever the X-Men disband as Cyclops ponders the future of not only the X-Men but all of mutant kind! Will the Young X-Men be the new team to replace the X-Men? In these trying times one thing is certain. The last remaining mutants must be protected at all costs. In the darkness Cyclops puts together a team that must do what the X-Men never could. Actively and permanently remove threats to all mutant kind. Beware X-Force has returned and they have only one goal, to kill!

Volume 74: Utopia

Who are the Dark X-Men? He has his own Avengers team and now Norman Osborn has his own X-Men team. The other shoe has finally dropped and Emma Frost has betrayed Cyclops and the rest of the X-Men. And that’s just one of the huge surprises in “UTOPIA”. Is that Namor? Cloak and Dagger? Professor X?! The thing that you aren’t ready for is that Osborn is right.

Emplate is back and he’s out for blood. More specifically, for mutant bone marrow. And with the X-Men still reeling from Utopia, he may have picked the perfect time to come calling.

Volume 75: Necrosha

Selene’s Inner Circle stands revealed and her master plan has been set into motion. Watch as the resurrected dead lay siege to the X-Men’s headquarters and the fight to survive the Black Queen’s vengeance begins. But while Warpath and Wolverine realize what’s happening, they may be too late to stop it. Because Selene is already well on her way to achieving ultimate power half a world away. And the rest of the X-Men fight mutants back from the dead!

Volume 76: Nation X

Cyclops has moved the X-Men from New York and created a home for mutants in San Francisco. He sent X-Force to the future to support his son Cable and even outwitted Norman Osborn and his Dark Avengers. Then New Avengers find themselves once again facing off against the Hood’s crew but where is the Hood? Things go from bad to worse as the Avengers are stripped of their powers and then the Dark Avengers arrive! A ray of light shines through Norman’s reign as the greatest Avenger is reborn! And what exactly is going on with the Sentry?

I mainly put Mighty Avengers 34 here as the round table discussion talks about recent events that are in this volume. If I put it with the rest of Mighty it would spoil things that happen before you get to this volume. If you’re not binding Mighty Avengers then you can leave it out.
